I’d like to post an entire review of this film eventually. Not that I am qualified whatsoever to review movies, just that this film is so great that I’d like to spend a lengthy amount of time poking it around in my brain. But, it’s late and we just got back so here are my initial thoughts…
Heath Ledger was amazing as the Joker. Absolutely stunning. His death a couple of months ago, in no way whatsoever, has any influence on my thoughts of his performance. I actually forgot it was Mr. Ledger behind the make-up. Fantastic.
That place was crowded. We viewed the movie at the AMC 30 IMAX in Olathe, KS and I have never seen the place so packed. Crazy turnout.
It was a comic book flick. While it is an amazing spectacle of a film, it is still a “comic book” movie. Keep that in mind. You’ll find some slight cheesy acting from random small role extras and a lot of the action tends to be unbelievable at points. This is where I had to remind myself that it was Batman; based on a comic book. With that said, it was as close to flawless as any movie I’ve seen from it’s genre.
It is well worth paying the money to see in a theatre at least once. Go to a big one with fantastic sound. The IMAX was SWEET AX…tion.
